Mildura Private Hospital has agreements with all health funds. We are committed to ensuring that you are informed about your financial obligations regarding your admission. Before your admission we will collect your health fund to confirm your level of cover and provide you with an estimate of any out of pocket expenses.
You are required to pay your hospital out of pocket costs on admission. We will claim the portion of your account that is covered by your insurance directly from your health fund. Mildura District Hospital Fund members with an Excess Hospital product are not liable for excess payment for any day surgery.
You may choose to self insure your admission to Mildura Private Hospital. We will provide you with an estimate of fees which is required to be paid prior to your admission. We offer lay-by to your admission as a payment option. Please contact our reception staff for further information if you choose lay-by as your method of payment.
Mildura Private Hospital provides Tier 1 healthcare services to the Veteran Community. DVA does not cover veterans for a private room therefore a surcharge will apply if you request private accommodation. Please inform our reception staff at time of preadmission if you have a DVA card.
Workers' Compensation and TAC patient admissions require approval of their insurance and claim prior to admission. Workers' Compensation and TAC does not cover for a private room therefore a surcharge will apply if you require private accommodation.
A number of other costs including mobile telephone, long distance phone calls incident costs such as magazines and some pharmacy items are not covered by health insurance. We will provide you with an account which is payable upon discharge.
Mildura District Hospital Fund has no out of pocket agreements with a number of Surgeons and Specialists visiting Mildura Private Hospital. A list of Mildura Private Hospital No Gap providers can be found on their website at www.mdhf.com.au
We recommend that you discuss with your Doctor and Anaesthetist potential costs prior to your admission.
You may also have out of pocket costs for other services which include radiology and MRI.
