About Dr. Nikhil Patravali

Dr. Patravali is a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, holding positions at Nepean Public and Private Hospitals in Sydney and at Mildura Health Private hospital. As an experienced Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist, he works with Monash IVF in Western Sydney.

Dr. Patravali completed his medical training in Scotland at Ninewells Hospital and the University of Dundee, specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Following his training, he worked as a consultant at Ninewells Hospital before relocating from the UK to Australia in 2016. Since then, he has taken on various leadership roles while managing his own private gynaecology practice including Mildura. He has served as a clinical director at Mildura Base Public Hospital and as the Head of Gynaecology at Nepean Hospital in Penrith.

Dr. Patravali has a longstanding interest in Gynaecology with a focus on endometriosis, fibroids, benign gynaecological conditions, abnormal smears, adolescent gynaecology, menopause, fertility treatment and reproductive surgery, particularly procedures designed to enhance gynaecological outcomes.

He is known for his genuine, caring approach, which puts patients at ease and fosters a supportive atmosphere. He works closely with patients collaborating to improve their outcomes and is a strong advocate for minimal access (keyhole) surgery, including Robotic Surgery for gynaecological conditions.

Dedicated to education and training, Dr. Patravali has held a number of teaching positions throughout his career. He is currently a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Nepean Clinical School, University of Sydney, where he teaches undergraduate medical students. Additionally, he serves as a training supervisor with RANZCOG, guiding postgraduate trainees. Dr. Patravali is multilingual, speaking English, Marathi and Hindi.
