About Dr. Stephen Gibbons

Dr. Gibbons graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science (BDSc) from Melbourne University in 1984.

 

He began his specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the same university in 1986, completing a Master of Dental Science in 1989.

​

Following this, he undertook a Research Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Centre, which concluded in mid-1990. He then advanced to the role of Chief Resident in the Harvard University Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA, completing the program in mid-1991.

After returning to Australia, Dr. Gibbons established a private practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Melbourne.

Specialising in

  • Corrective jaw surgery (including cleft lip and palate deformity)

  • Implantology and bone grafting

  • Dento-alveolar surgery, including wisdom teeth
