Associate Professor Dr Andrew Ajani is a distinguished interventional and general cardiologist practising at Melbourne Private Hospital and serving as a co-owner of the Mildura Cardiology Group. He holds honorary cardiologist appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is Associate Professor at both Melbourne and Monash universities. As Director of the Melbourne Interventional Group, Dr Ajani oversees one of Australia’s largest registries for patients treated with coronary stents, contributing significantly to ongoing clinical research and quality improvement in cardiology.

A/Prof Ajani is deeply committed to medical education, holding multiple teaching roles, including Senior Lecturer with the Australian College of Physicians. He is highly regarded for his prolific academic contributions, with over 190 peer-reviewed publications. His primary research interests focus on acute coronary syndromes and coronary in-stent restenosis, areas in which he has helped advance understanding and patient care both nationally and internationally. Through his leadership, clinical expertise, and dedication to research and teaching, Dr Ajani continues to improve outcomes for cardiac patients and shape the next generation of cardiologists.
