Our Oncology Unit provides high-quality care for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and other specialised medical treatments. Working alongside Medical Oncologists and a multidisciplinary team, including Haematologists, Gastroenterologists, Neurologists and Rheumatologists, you'll play an important role in delivering safe, compassionate, evidence-based care.

The role
As an Oncology Nurse, you will be central to the delivery of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments for patients living with cancer.
You will:
Administer systemic anti-cancer treatments and infusions safely and accurately
Handle and dispose of antineoplastic drugs and cytotoxic waste according to safety protocols
Monitor and manage treatment-related toxicities and oncologic emergencies
Perform vascular access procedures and maintenance
Provide patient education and empower individuals through every step of their treatment
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, person-centred care
About you
You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. You demonstrate initiative, excellent communication skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment. Above all, you're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and practising with professionalism and integrity.
Whether you're an experienced Oncology Nurse or an acute care Registered Nurse looking to transition into oncology, we'll provide the mentoring, education and support you need to build your confidence and develop your specialist skills.
You must have:
Current AHPRA registration
Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check
Up-to-date required immunisations
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
A caring, empathetic approach to patient care
We are willing to support the right candidate to achieve the following:
Completion of the eviQ Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course (ADAC), or a commitment to complete it upon commencement
Competency in peripheral cannulation and central venous access devices (CVADs)
